Jeff Dunne is a breakdancer (breaker), better known by his stage name J-Attack. At the World U18 Breaking Championships in Slovenia in 2022, he finished ninth in the world, and in 2019 he won his first Australian Youth Champion title. Now as of 2024, he qualifies for the Summer Olympics in Paris as well.
Jeff Dunne secures a quota for the Paris Olympics 2024
A 16-year-old student from northern New South Wales has earned the right to represent Australia in breaking at the Paris Olympics. This happened after he won the gold medal at the final qualifying event. Jeff Dunne came out victorious over 37 other competitors from Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia at the recent Oceania Breaking Championships held at Sydney Town Hall.
Jeff, who hails from Casuarina on the Tweed Coast, solidified his spot for the Paris Olympics when he emerged as the champion at the Oceania Breaking Championships at Sydney Town Hall in November 2023. Competing under the name J Attack, Jeff triumphed over 37 other contenders from Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia.
“When I saw the scoreboard (at the Olympic qualifying event), I told myself I wouldn’t cry,””Then I saw my family and my friends soaked in tears, so I just had to let my emotions go. “I train hard, four to six hours every day, working on style, the way I move, working on routines and trying to upgrade my dynamic ability. “It feels like so much hard work and dedication, trying to get better and showing who I am through dance, has paid off.”

Jeff Dunne Family Life
Jeff Dunne, also known by his stage name J-Attack, was born in Davao City, Philippines. However, he was adopted as a baby by an Australian family and grew up in Casuarina, NSW, Australia. His parents are Tony Dunne (father) and Rhondda Dunne (mother). Jeff has a sister named Hannah Dunne, who is an actor and dancer.
Jeff attended high school at Northern NSW High School. Although Jeff and his sisters share a deep love and exceptional talent for dancing, this skill is not as important to the rest of their family.

Jeff Dunne Started his career at the age of 7
Jeff’s journey into breakdancing began when he was seven years old. He would go with his sister to her hip-hop dance classes, and it was there that his passion for the sport blossomed. After deciding to join his own dance class, Jeff dedicated himself to the program, training for more than two hours every day.
In the early stages of his career, Jeff Dunne achieved several accomplishments. In 2017, he and his friend Miku came out victorious in the 24-kids tournament within their division.

The following year, in 2018, Jeff won the Team Cream Studios Tournament Open Day Battles & Workshops, which was organized by Team Cream Studios. During the same year, he also secured the Breakin’ 4 v 4 Champion title. Additionally, Jeff triumphed in the Junior Bboy Battle competition held at the Edmund Rice Performing Arts Centre (ERPAC).
In 2019, Jeff claimed his first Australian Youth Champion title. Since then, he has continued to win titles in various competitions across the globe, including events in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Slovenia, Slovakia, Holland, and the USA.
Jeff Recent Years
In 2022, Jeff Dunne was ranked 9th in the world for breaking/breakdancing. He took part in the World U18 Championships where he competed against breakers from 51 different countries. At this event, Jeff finished among the top 16 performers.
Specifically, he participated in the World U18 Breaking Championships held in Slovenia, where he placed in the top 16 out of 51 countries represented. Additionally, Jeff took part in the Battle of the Gods competition, where he secured the 1st position in the senior category.
Jeff achieved the 2nd position at the Sydney Breaking Battle in the senior category that same year. He also won the Blacktown Block Party Battles in the senior category. In 2022, Jeff secured the 2nd position at the Brunswick St Competition, once again in the senior category.
In 2023, Jeff Dunne received a remarkable honor as he was named the youngest recipient of a Tier 2 scholarship from the Sport Australia Hall of Fame’s Scholarship & Mentoring Program.
