Paris Olympics 2024 (Team USA): Noah Bratschi’s Chance to qualify for Paris 2024

23-year-old American professional rock climber Noah Bratschi, who stands 6 feet 1 inch (185 cm) tall, Who represents the United States At the IFSC Climbing World Cups. Bratschi will get another chance at the Paris Olympic Qualifying Series after winning a Silver Medal at the 2023 Pan American Games.

Noah Bratschi’s Early Life

Bratschi was born on July 31, 2000, in Potomac, Maryland, United States. As a young child, Bratschi first discovered his passion for climbing at the age of 5.

Bratschi attended Churchill High School locally, graduating in 2018 after a stand-out high school climbing career.

Noah Bratschi Won a Silver Medal at the 2023 Pan American and will have another opportunity at the Paris Olympic Qualifying Series

The American speed climber Noah Bratschi continues his rapid rise in the sport, by winning a silver medal in Speed Climbing at the recent 2023 Pan American Games.

Carrying this momentum, Bratschi recently faced teammate Samuel Watson in a Pan American final. Both climbers stumbled in their final push, with Watson just pushing ahead to gold at 5.37 seconds compared to Bratschi’s 5.96.

Though Bratschi narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 2024 Olympics directly from the Pan American Games, he will have another shot through the Olympic Qualifying Series (OQS) in June.

Bratschi is one of seven American climbers chasing an Olympic spot via the OQS across the speed and bouldering/lead disciplines. Joining him in speed are fellow Noah Bratschi (Male, Speed), John Brosler (Male, Speed), Kyra Condie (Female, Boulder & Lead), Kylie Cullen (Female, Boulder & Lead), Zach Hammer (Male, Speed), Brooke Raboutou (Female, Boulder & Lead), and Annie Sanders (Female, Boulder & Lead).

Noah Bratschi’s Climbing Career So Far

Bratschi first started climbing locally at age five, competing by age 9. Then he was onto the youth scene in 2015, winning the U.S. Youth Nationals in speed climbing. That same year he took first at the senior U.S. Speed Climbing Nationals while still a teenager.

His early competitive dominance continued into 2016, when he won gold at the U.S. Sport & Speed Nationals in Kennesaw, GA. During this time, Bratschi also competed at Canadian Nationals and continued to establish himself as America’s top youth speed climbing talent.

As Bratschi aged up through the junior ranks, his results improved. In 2017, he won gold at the Youth Pan American Championships in Montreal, Canada. The next year, he finished 2nd at the IFSC World Youth Championships in Moscow, Russia.

In 2019, Bratschi officially arrived at the senior level with a silver medal at the U.S. Open National Championships. But his true international breakthrough came in 2021 at the IFSC World Championships in Moscow, where his bronze medal marked the first American world medalist in speed climbing in over 30 years.

In May 2022, his silver medal at the IFSC World Cup in Salt Lake City World Cup marked the first-ever American male podium finisher. He also was the 2022 North American Cup gold medalist and the bronze medalist at the US Open National Championships.
