Dominique Olivia Parrish is an American freestyle wrestler. She earned the Gold Medal in the Women’s 53kg event at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. She won a gold medal in her event at the 2022 Pan American Wrestling Championships in Acapulco, Mexico. Parrish has qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Dominique Parrish, a wrestler from Scotts Valley, became the second person from Santa Cruz County to make the United States team for the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer. On Saturday, Parrish qualified to represent the U.S. in the women’s 53 kg wrestling event.
She defeated her opponent, Haley Augello, age 29, from Lockport, Illinois, who had competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Parrish avoided being taken down and won both matches with a score of 2-0 at the 2024 Olympic Team Trials held at Penn State.
“It feels really, really good,” “This is what I’ve been working for, for so long.” Her sister and her boyfriend were on hand to see her qualify.

Dominique Olivia Parrish was born on November 5, 1996, in Scotts Valley, California, United States. She currently lives in Tempe, Arizona. Her father’s name is Mike Parrish. She weighs 55 kilograms (121 pounds).
Parrish began wrestling when she joined a wrestling demonstration in sixth grade. She went to Scotts Valley High School in Scotts Valley, California where she became a two-time state champion for California high schools. Her father coached her during high school.
Parrish attended Simon Fraser University. She did very well in wrestling as part of the Simon Fraser Red Leafs team. Parrish became a two-time national champion and four-time All-American for Simon Fraser University. She wrestles for the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club.

Parrish started wrestling at a young age. She won many honors in her career. Her talent and hard work in wrestling led to great success from an early age.
In 2015, Parrish came third at the UWW Junior National tournament.
In 2016, Parrish won the SFU Clansman Open in Canada. She came fourth at the University Nationals and also fourth at the U.S. Open Championships.

In 2017, Parrish took third place at the Dave Schultz Memorial International Championship in the 57 kg weight class. She also came ninth at the 2017 U23 World Championships in the 55 kg weight class held in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
In 2018, Parrish was eighth at the International Ukrainian Tournament Seniors in the 55 kg class. She was tenth at the Grand Prix of Spain Seniors in 55 kg. Lastly, she was fifth at the 2018 World Championship U23 in the 55 kg class held in Bucharest, Romania.
In 2019, Parrish took second place at the Dave Schultz Memorial International Seniors in the 55 kg class. She was fifth at the Poland Open Tournament Seniors in 55 kg. She came seventh at the 2019 World Championships U23 in the 55 kg class held in Budapest, Hungary.

In 2020, She took part in the 2020 Klippan Lady Open Tournament in the senior women’s 55 kg wrestling event.
In 2021, Parrish came third at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
In 2022, Parrish won one bronze medal in the women’s 53 kg event at the Yasar Dogu Tournament in Istanbul, Turkey. She competed at the 2022 Tunis Ranking Series event in Tunis, Tunisia. She also won the gold medal at the 2022 Pan American Wrestling Championships, which was first planned for Santiago, Chile, but later moved to Acapulco.
Parrish also won the gold medal at the 2022 World Wrestling Championships, the 17th combined events edition, held between September 10 and 18 in Belgrade, Serbia.
In 2023, Parrish lost her bronze medal match in her event at the 2023 Pan American Wrestling Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was eliminated in her first match in the women’s 53 kg event at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
In January 2024, she lost her bronze medal match in her event at the 2024 Grand Prix Zagreb Open in Zagreb, Croatia. In February 2024, at the Pan American Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament in Acapulco, Mexico, she earned a quota place for the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
