Lara Dallman-Weiss, 35, is an American sailor. She’s qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris as well. She previously won a spot on Team USA to compete in the Women’s Two-Person Dinghy – 470 event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Lara Dallman-Weiss, who is from Shoreview, Minnesota, has secured a place in the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. Along with her teammate Stuart McNay, she won the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the mixed 470 sailing event. At the 470 World Championship held in Palma De Mallorca, Spain, they obtained “country qualification,” officially reserving their spot to compete in Marseille for the Olympics. This will be Dallman-Weiss’s second time participating in the Olympics, as she previously represented the United States in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Lara Dallman-Weiss was born on January 30, 1989, in Shoreview, Minnesota, United States. Her hometown is Miami, Florida. She is quite tall, standing at 5 feet 9 inches (173 cm).
Lara’s parents are Sue Dallman and John Weiss. She has one older brother named Tom and one older sister named Vanessa. Lara credits her grandfather, Howard Dallman, as her inspiration. Her grandfather was a pilot in both the Vietnam War and World War II.
For high school, Lara attended Mounds View High School and graduated in 2007. During her summers, she sailed in the Inland Lakes Yachting Association (ILYA). However, most of her athletic development came from playing basketball, running track and cross-country, and being a dancer. After high school, Lara went to Eckerd College and graduated in 2011 with degrees in Nutritional Counseling, Wellness Education, and Spanish. For hobbies, Lara enjoys writing, running, biking, traveling, and photography.
Lara Dallman-Weiss Early Begining of Sailing at the age of just 6
Lara began sailing when she was just 6 years old. She has raced on many different-sized sailboats, ranging from 8 feet to 183 feet long. Lara grew up sailing at the White Bear Yacht Club. Her coach is named Robby Bisi.
In 2010, she came in third place in the Women’s National sailing competition. This achievement was an important milestone in her sailing career and helped her on her way to becoming an accomplished Olympic sailor.
In 2014, she secured the third position at the Women’s Match Race World Championship as part of the Epic Racing team.
In 2016, she became the North American Champion in the Farr 40 Class sailing on the boat Flash Gordon. She also won first place in the C&C 30 class at the Key West Race Week event. Additionally, she won first place at the Etchells Pacific Coast Championship as the main sail trimmer. She also achieved third place at the Women’s Match Race World Championship again as part of the Epic Racing team.
In 2017, she was honored as the Sportsman of the Year. She also achieved the status of being a three-time All-American sailor and an All-American select.

Throughout her sailing career, she has achieved many notable accomplishments.
