American Shooter Rachel Tozier qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024

Rachel Leighanne Tozier, 31, is an American sport shooter. In the women’s trap competition at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, she took home the silver medal. Alongside Brian Burrows, she also took home the silver medal in the mixed trap competition. Rachel has qualified as an athlete for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

At the 2023 Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile on October 26th, Rachel Tozier won the bronze medal in the Women’s Trap shooting event. This medal secured the final spot for the United States in the shotgun shooting events at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

During the qualification round, Rachel scored 115 out of 125 targets, ranking her first among all shooters advancing to the final round. She narrowly beat out her American teammate Alicia Gough, who finished fourth overall.

“It was a huge relief to have earned the quota and gotten the job done, My qualification score may not have been what I wanted but I am glad to have gotten a medal and quota.”

Tozier, a Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit said.

Rachel Leighanne Tozier was born on April 1, 1992, in Liberty, Missouri. Her hometown is Pattonsburg, Missouri. Her height is 5 feet 4 inches tall and she weighs 140 pounds.

She went to Pattonsburg High School in Pattonsburg, Missouri, and graduated in 2010. After high school, she attended the University of Central Missouri. Later, she got her Master’s degree in Sports and Health Sciences from American Military University. She is a member of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Club.

Rachel’s parents are Porter and Dana Hoover. She has one sister named Ashley. Besides being a specialist in the U.S. Army, Rachel has also participated in bodybuilding competitions organized by NANBF (National Amateur Body-Builders’ Association).

Some of Rachel’s hobbies and interests include weightlifting, playing video games, sewing, and cooking.

Rachel’s married life with her husband Thomas

Rachel is married to Thomas Christopher-Perfect Tozier. They got married on July 21, 2018. Together they have a daughter named Vivi Rose who was born on January 10, 2021.

Thomas has done very well in fitness competitions. He has won several of these competitions. Thomas also helps communities by putting together fitness events and classes. He teaches people about living a physically healthy life and motivates them to make healthier choices.

Rachel Tozier Career So Far

In March 2017, Rachel Tozier joined the Army. She did her Basic Training at Fort Jackson. In July 2017, after finishing her Advanced Individual Training as a Human Resource Specialist (42A), she was chosen for the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit’s Shotgun Team.

In 2019, she won the silver medal in the women’s trap shooting event at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. At the same event, she also won the silver medal in the mixed trap event along with Brian Burrows.

In 2020, Rachel served as an alternate member of the Olympic Team for the Women’s Trap event.

In 2021, she earned the bronze medal at the USAS National Championships in Women’s Trap. She also secured a bronze medal as part of the Women’s Trap Team at the World Cup in Lonato, Italy.

The next year in 2022, Rachel won gold in the Women’s Trap Team event at the ISSF World Cup in Baku. She then won another gold in the same event at the ISSF World Cup in Lima. She also got a silver medal in the Women’s Trap Team event at the ISSF Nicosia World Cup.

In 2023, Rachel won the bronze medal in Women’s Trap at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. This result secured the final U.S. Olympic shotgun quota spot for the 2024 Paris Olympics. At the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Rabat, Morocco, she won three more medals – bronze in individual Women’s Trap, gold in Mixed Trap, and gold in Women’s Trap Team.
