Tiana Echegaray earned her spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics through her great performance at the Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands, in November 2023. She won by unanimous decision against Tonga’s Hainite Kayla Tuitupou in the women’s 54kg weight class.
Tiana will be one of a record 12 Australian boxers going to the Paris Olympics. Australia did very well overall at the Pacific Games. Tiana’s mother’s name is Tongia Baker-Mato. She has two brothers named Jayson and Midas.
After finishing school at the Australian Institute of Fitness, Tiana now works as a personal trainer and also teaches boxing.
Tiana Boxing Career So Far
In 2019, Tiana started boxing to get fit. But she quickly fell in love with the sport because of the good changes it made to her lifestyle. In 2022, Tiana won her first Australian title. She said this was the biggest moment of her career so far.
